We are the Schultz family from Minnesota with a capital O. Yes, we really say it that way, at least some of us do. While these past two years have been full of adjustments and transitions for everyone, we’ve also experienced two graduations, two big moves including downsizing for us and a move across the country to Florida for our oldest – and a soon a move to California for our youngest.  We also will be welcoming a daughter-in-law in May. And among all of that, a decision that started with a month-long stay in Florida two winters ago, when full-time remote work was still a thing.

The thought of owning and managing furnished vacation rentals was not on our radar previously with boys in multiple activities in high school and college. But with that chapter closed, a pandemic, and the aforementioned move to Florida, an idea took shape. Coming back from Florida that winter, I bought a book called Airbnb for Dummies, because of course that is where you start when you do not know anything about a topic. That book, plus several others as well as many podcasts, seminars and coaching groups later we took the leap and started a new chapter by purchasing our first property – the cutest single-family home in the quaint and welcoming town of Gulfport, Florida. We have now added a second property seven miles away in the beach community of Madeira Beach and are so happy to be hosting guests that get to enjoy these spaces and wonderful areas as much as we do.
